The Owl is an earthwork built in the fall of 2015.  It is a terraced trail that winds its way up the side of a canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains.  The nest platform at the top spans a width of 25', with a maximum depth of 10'.  It reclaims 400 square feet of otherwise impassable hillside terrain.  The nested wall rises 6' off the mountainside, woven of branches and whole trees.  The adjoining trail is a series of 3 switchbacks, with shrines to an Owl and Guatama Buddha nestled along it.
