Metochi is a collective installation piece within the Santa Monica Mountains. The installation consists of a series of 22 shrines, located in power places throughout this special mountain range. Each shrine is dedicated to a certain god, deity, animal, or being from several world cultures. Individually, it honors divinity, while collectively as a unified set, it honors all expressions of the divine as from the same source. The shrines are all formed of native wood, stone and earth, with my bespoke nest technique, to emphasize the truth that the Earth herself forms the base from which all faiths emerge. Metochi is a living public work that continues to grow everyday.
