Metochi is a collective installation piece in the Santa Monica Mountains. The installation consists of a series of 22 shrines, located in power places throughout this mountain range. Each shrine is dedicated to a certain god, deity, animal, or being from various world cultures. The work honors individual divinity, while collectively, it honors all expressions of divine as from the same unified source. To highlight this source, the shrines are all formed of native wood, stone and earth, with my bespoke nest forms, to emphasize the truth that the Earth herself forms the base from which all these faiths emerge. Metochi is a living public work that continues to grow everyday.
